Training
Rather than give our courses fancy names we simply offer advanced training that is specific to your individual needs. All you need to do is contact us. We'll discuss which options are best suited to your requirements and then devise a training plan that will help you achieve your goals. We're sure you'll find that our personal and coaching-style approach to training works well for you.

Ride Assessment Consider a ride assessment as a riding skills version of an MOT. It consists of an approximately 40 minute ride and a 20 minute debrief. You'll be provided with a written report and depending on your requirements, a proposed action plan. A Ride Assessment is included for first-time riders in the Half and Full Day programs. This is the first step in the Enhanced Rider Scheme (see below) towards an Enhanced Rider Insurance Certificate.

Half-Day (max. 4 hours) A first time half-day session begins with a Ride Assessment. With a mix of ‘classroom’ theory and road work you’ll cover up to 75 miles with at least one mid-way comfort/coffee break. Instruction is specific to your requirements and the session is completed with a debriefing followed by a written report and proposed action plan. A half-day is useful for riders who only have mornings or afternoons available or in winter when the days are shorter and cooler.

Full Day (max. 8 hours) A first-time full day session begins with a Ride Assessment. Depending on a rider's individual requirements a full day can feature up to 150 miles of riding with a mix of 'classroom' theory and road work. There is a morning and afternoon comfort/coffee break, a one hour lunch break and an end of session debrief. A written report with recommendations is included. The full day allows time to practise and refine specific riding skills with ongoing feedback. As with the half-day the Ride Assessment will determine if you qualify or require more training towards your Enhanced Rider Insurance Certificate.

Two Day This is a fantastic way to fine-tune your riding skills and have a fabulous time doing it. Take a short break and we'll work with you on some of the best riding roads the country has to offer. Two days (preferably back to back) really allow for honing your skills with the potential to achieve a high grade on an ERIC qualification or prepare for an advanced test such as RoSPA. We can use from a variety of challenging and scenic ‘rider’ routes in Wales, the Peak District, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. If you're from the south of the country and would like a spectacular change of scenery and much less-congested roads then this might be of particular interest to you. Cost-effective B&B options are available.
